Long Life Ceremony and Celebration (Tenzhug in Tibetan) for His Holiness the Sakya Trizin

Dear Dharma Friends,

Tashi Delek! We hope that you, your family, and your community are having a very happy and healthy new year.

2011 will be an exciting year for all of us. With the coming of His Holiness the Sakya Trizin’s Western Hemisphere teaching tour, including His Holiness' bestowal of the precious Lam Dre and many other precious teachings, there is much to look forward to.

In particular, we would like to invite you and your friends a family to a very special event this summer. On September 1 - 3, 2011, Tsechen Kunchab Ling in Walden, New York, will host a three day Long Life Ceremony and Celebration (Tenzhug in Tibetan) for His Holiness the Sakya Trizin. It will be an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Sakyapas and Dharma friends from throughout North America to come together as a community to express our appreciation for His Holiness’ great compassion, wisdom and tireless activities for the benefit of others.

The three days of the Tenzhug will include long life prayers and rituals led by all the Sakyapa lamas from throughout the United States and offerings of song and dance by local Tibetan and Himalayan organizations. On September 3, all of the Sakya centers and participating organizations will join together to offer a long-life mandala to His Holiness to request that he remain long in this world to guide us and all living beings.

For all of His Holiness’ disciples in North America, this important event will certainly be one of the high points of our spiritual lives. We sincerely hope that you and members of your Dharma community or organization will be able to attend and participate.

More information about the Long Life Ceremony & Celebration will be available in the near future, but for now: save the date!

Sincerely,
Tenzhug Organizing Committee
